Welcome to Local-Story!

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before use of this website and the services included therein (hereinafter jointly: the “Site”) and stay updated from time to time of the changes made to them, as these Terms of Use constitute an agreement between you and Local Story and use any of the Site constitutes consent on your behalf to the terms set forth in this document (hereinafter: the “Terms of Use”). These terms of use are phrased in the masculine form for the sake of convenience alone, but refer to both men and women together.

Local Story

“Local Story” is an online platform that presents the story of a place in chronological order on a dynamic timeline developed through words, pictures, audio and video clips.

User of the Site and its Services
1. Any person or entity that complies with these Terms of Use in full may use the Site, provided that the same person or entity uses the Site in a legal and reasonable manner, for personal use alone and not for commercial purposes.
2. The user is aware that use of the Site and its services and content are at its sole responsibility. Local Story does not make any representation or warranty regarding the Site, the services or contents included therein, including regarding the accuracy, suitability, integrity or availability thereof, and the user will not have any claims for the use as stated (including the inability to use the Site), directly or indirectly against Local Story.
3. A user of the Site undertakes to use the Site and its services fairly and honestly, not to overload the Site and/or its servers and not to floor the Site and/or any of its servers.
4. You may not copy, publically display or use the contents published on the Site for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, other than for viewing the content through the Site for personal use. Within the above, you may not copy, publically display or use content from the Site or other websites, electronic publications of any kind, computer software or applications, telephone and mobile communications, on the radio, television, in print or other media.
5. You may not operate or enable operation of any means of any type, including computer applications, in order to copy or automatically retrieve software from the Site or display them in another framework that is not the Site, including creating or using means as stated in order to create a compilation, collection or database that contains content from the Site.
6. Minimum software and hardware requirements for use of the Site may be published on the Site from time to time. Notwithstanding the above, we do not guarantee accessibility to the Site or its level of performance, even if you comply with the minimum requirements. The user is aware that at times, disruptions, delays or failures may occur on the Site and Local Story will not bear liability for any damage, malfunction, failure, loss or fault caused as a result.
7. We do not guarantee that all of the services and content offered on the Site will continue to be offered or available on the Site at all times. Local Story may, at any times, change and/or discontinue, temporarily or fully, the Site, services and content included therein, the scope and availability and any other aspect involved in the same, all at its sole discretion and without being required to notify the user of the same in advance, whether for the purpose of maintenance or for any other reason. These changes naturally may cause malfunctions and interruptions, including availability of the Site in whole or in part. Local Story will not be liable for any loss and/or damage, direct or indirect, that arises as a result of a change or cessation of the Site in whole or in part, including disruptions or failures caused as a result.

The user hereby declares that it will not have any claim, demand or allegation against Local Story in any event in which the Site ceases (in whole or in part) to operate, whether temporarily or permanently.

User Content
1. The Site may allow, now or in the future, content to be uploaded by users, such as text, images, audio or video clips (hereinafter: the “Content”), in which cases, the following terms will apply:
  1. Access to uploading Content may be limited, now or in the future, only to registered users of the Site (meaning, users who have successfully completed the registration process to the Site). A user who is registered for the Site undertakes to provide correct information and update his details in the event of a change.
  2. A user who uploads Content to the Site is solely responsible to have, at all times, all of the licenses, rights and approvals required in order to upload the Content to the Site and grant Local Story the licenses set forth in these Terms of Use.
  3. By uploading Content to the Site: (a) the user agrees to the presentation of the Content publically on the Site indefinitely; (b) the user grants Local Story and authorized parties on its behalf an irrevocable, unlimited, global license that does not bear royalties, present the Content (whether on the Site or another platform), keep the Content on its servers, transfer them to other formats (including through uploading the Content to YouTube and making free use thereof (including derivative works) for any purpose, including market and advertising; and (c) the user declares that it has all the rights required (including copyrights and any other right required for the same) and/or the approvals or licenses required in order to upload the Content to the Site and present it on the Site and for granting the license detailed in Section (b) above, without requiring approval or a license from any third party.
  4. The user undertakes not to upload to the Site: (a) illegal Content; (b) files or applications that include viruses, including hostile programs known as Trojan horses, worms, vandals, malicious applications and the like, or any similar type of software or program that may cause damage or harm the actions of another computer and/or impair use of the Site; (c) material that harms or violates proprietary rights of others, including intellectual property rights such as copyrights or trademarks. This material includes, inter alia, music files (such as MP3s), protected computer software, means of bypassing, removing or eliminating digital protections on software and various types of computer files, pictures and protected videos, transcripts, notes, texts or works of art created by others; (d) material have harms other third party rights, including the right to privacy and reputation; (e) sexually explicit material, material that is abusive, racist, harassing, insulting, hostile, threatening, harmful, or material likely to offend public sensibilities; (f) material concerning minors; (g) sensitive security information or other information that is sensitive in nature or regarding which there is a gag order of the court; (h) material that encourages, supports, or provides instructions for making or guiding performing an illegal act; (i) material which constitutes defamation (libel) of a person or entity; (j) material that reveals the intimate or personal details of the person (including the name) and/or ways of communicating with him the person, without he himself providing it and/or material that violates the privacy of an individual's personality.
The user is solely responsible for backing up and saving Content uploaded by him and operators of the site will not bear any responsibility for maintaining and backing up the Content. Local Story and authorized parties on its behalf will not bear any liability regarding damage or loss that is caused to a user or any third party as a result of loss or availability of Content uploaded to the Site.
The content presented on the Site is subject to the sole discretion of [customer name] (hereinafter: the “Presenter”). The Presenter will be allowed not to display Content uploaded by a user and delete Content already uploaded to the Site, for any reason in its sole discretion and without having to give the user any notification or explanation.

If you believe that Content uploaded to the Site is content prohibited by these Terms of Use, or you wish to remove Content uploaded in the past on the Site, you are asked to contact the Presenter at This email address is being protected from spambots. The Presenter may (but is not required to), at its discretion, remove the same Content if it finds the removal necessary. Local Story does not assume any responsibility for the Content displayed on the Site but reserves the right to remove any content following a complaint received.

If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement by another user, you are asked to contact the Presenter at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and provide the following information: (A) a description of the copyrighted work, which you claim has been infringed upon; (B) a description of the place on the Site where the Content that you claim is infringed appears, including the link to it; (C) Details of contact information, including an address, phone number and your e-mail address; (D) an affidavit on your behalf whereby the information included in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner of the copyright or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner. Note that this procedure is intended solely to report that there is a breach of copyright protected material. Local Story does not assume any responsibility for the Content displayed on the Site but reserves the right to remove any Content following a complaint received.

Blocking a Profile and Access to Information
1. Local Story will be entitled, at any time and in its sole discretion, to block a user, limit access to information, and / or delete any Content uploaded by the user and / or perform any other action in relation to the user, without the user having any claim or complaint against it in this regard. This does not limit the list of cases in which Local Story will be permitted at its sole and absolute discretion to order blocking this or any other kind of profile of users who violate these Terms of Use.
2. Without derogating from the provisions of Section 4.1 (and all its sub-sections), no blocking of a user profile, as described above, will derogate from the right of a Local Story and / or its representative to file a lawsuit against users who violate these provisions, demand indemnity and / or compensation for damages incurred or to take any step against him, which is available to the Site under law.‎4.1
3. Content, Links and Advertisements
  1. Content and information displayed on the Site are presented as they are ("as is"), without any representations or warranties concerning accuracy, origin or suitability. You may find information and Content that is not true, does not correspond to your needs or object to the Content or consider them to be aggravating, annoying, improper, illegal or immoral. Local Story and/or its designees shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage, financial or otherwise, caused to the user or any third party, resulting from the use of or reliance on such information contained on the Site, including the case of a user or any third party being harmed from Content contained on the Site or reliance thereon.
  2. In addition, the Site may contain links to other Internet sites and ads and commercials on behalf of third parties seeking to offer for sale goods, services or information (hereinafter: the “Ads"). Ads can be in text, image, voice or multimedia. Local Story does not verify the content of links and Ads, their accuracy, reliability, completeness or status. Thus, the Ads on the Site and appearance of links does not represent a recommendation or encouragement on behalf of Local Story to enter these links and /or purchase the services, or products offered for sale. Local Story and/or its designees shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage, financial or otherwise, caused to the user or any third party, resulting from the use of or reliance on the links and Ads appearing and published on the Site and/or external sites that can be reached through the Site, services and links appearing on it.
4. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks, on the Site, the Site design, structure, contents and the nature and content of the services contained therein (including any software, application, computer code, graphic file, text or any other material contained therein) belong to a Local Story and its licensors. However, it is clarified that the content users uploaded to the site will remain the property of the original owners.

Accordingly, you may not remove, delete or distort any sign of intellectual property appearing on the Site.

Feedback and Suggestions

Your opinion is important to us and we would be happy to receive feedback and suggestions. Please note that any modification, improvement, suggestions, feedback, etc. (hereinafter: the "Feedback") that is transferred to Local Story through the Site or otherwise, will be the exclusive property of Local Story, which will be allowed to use the Feedback in its sole discretion without compensation or credit to the provider of the Feedback in return, compensation or recognition of any kind.

Limitation of Liability

Local Story and a party on its behalf, shall bear no responsibility towards users and/or any third party for any damage, loss or expense, including any direct, special, indirect or consequential damages including loss of income, loss of profits and damage to reputation caused or that will result or that is in connection with the use or non-use of the Site and the services contained therein, content, Ads or links, even if Local Story and/or any of its agents were aware or should have been aware of the probability of catastrophic nature of the damage and the user hereby exempts Local Story and/or its representatives from any such liability.

Indemnification

The user undertakes to indemnify Local Story and any party on its behalf for any damage, loss, loss of profits, payment or expenses incurred by any of them, including attorney's fees and court costs, due to (A) breach of these terms and conditions by the user or his representative, including Content uploaded by the user; (B) any claim, demand or action arising from the use of the Site user or contrary to these Terms of Use, either by the user himself (or on its behalf) or brought by a third party.

Jurisdiction and Disputes

The user hereby agrees that the law applicable to the use of the Site and any claim, demand or action in connection with the Site is strictly the law of the State of Israel. Any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions, and use of the Site, will be subject to the exclusive and sole jurisdiction of the competent court in the Tel-Aviv, Israel.

Changes and Updates

Local Story reserves the right to update, add, modify or remove these at any terms at any time and at its sole discretion and recommends the each user examine these Terms of Use regularly before continuing use. Using the Site and/or continued use of the Site constitutes the user's consent to the terms of use and any changes made to them.
